There is no other profession where you can impact and touch a life like a nurse can. Being a nurse is an exciting career where the work is hard, incredibly demanding, and the challenges encountered are endless, but the rewards cannot be measured. The whole affect of nursing revolves around one thing and one thing only: helping the sick, the infirmed, the less fortunate.
Being a nurse means you will need compassion. Lots of it. It also requires having keen intuition, and savvy observation. You will need patience and tolerance and a strong stomach. You need to use critical thinking skills and be ready to respond because someone’s life is depending on it. You will be tired, sick and injured from pushing and pulling and exposing yourself to disease. And it must all be done while maintaining your integrity and, again, compassion.
The nurse, with their compassion, caring and knowledge, can make the difference between life and death. Yet the medical field is ever changing and you will be part of those changes, from new discoveries in the impetus behind eating disorders or the correlation between spiritual and physical well-being provided by yoga. So Online Nursing Programs is proud to present the following blogs in their respective fields as award recipients for best characterizing the nurse’s ideals and traits.
So join me in congratulating this year’s 2010 Top Blog Awards presented by Online Nursing Programs!
